What Customers Are Saying

Bought the 2-pack to keep one and give one to my sister's kids. Super cute set, colors are bright, and it's nice that the mat turns right into the storage bag.

Love that it doesn't have tiny magnets for my 1yo to swallow. We brought it on a 3 hour flight and it kept her busy pretty much the whole time. Folds up super easy too.

Actually stays organized because of the fold up bag design. We take it everywhere—grandma’s, restaurants, park. My 14 month old loves pulling all the fish out.

Honestly bought this mostly so my 1.5 year old would stop dumping his hard plastic toys on the hardwood floors at 6am. It’s soft, totally silent, and he actually sits there trying to catch the fish for more than 30 minutes. 10/10

My daughter (2) loves it. The velcro tip is easy enough for her to get the fish without throwing a tantrum, and the fabric held up well.

Usually hate toys with this many pieces because they end up everywhere, but you just scoop everything onto the mat and fold it up. Took like 10 seconds. Wish more toddler toys were designed like this.

Questions We Get Asked A Lot

What exactly do you get?

Twenty-two pieces:

  • 15 soft fabric fish — roughly 2.7–3.5 inches each. Big enough for small hands, too big to be a choking risk.
  • 5 numbered stacking cups — numbered 1 to 5 in five colours. They stack, they nest, and they turn the catch into counting.
  • 1 plush fishing rod — about 6.7 inches, with a soft line and float. Shake it and it rattles.
  • 1 carry mat that doubles as the bag — 11.8 × 8.8 inches folded, with handles. Everything stores inside it.
What age is this really for?

Six months and up, and it genuinely lasts. At 6–12 months they grab and mouth the fish and shake the rattling rod. Around 1–2 years they start catching — the rod grips on contact, so they succeed on the first try. By 2–3 years they're sorting the catch into the numbered cups and counting it. Most baby toys are finished in three months; this one is three different games across three years.

Is it safe for a baby who mouths everything?

That's what it's built for. The fish, the rod and the mat are all soft fabric. The five stacking cups are moulded plastic with smooth rounded edges — no magnets, nothing sharp, no painted surfaces to chip. The fish are deliberately oversized so they can't be swallowed. As with any toy at this age, play is meant to be supervised.

Are there magnets?

No. The rod uses a hook-and-loop tip that grips the fabric fish on contact. Nothing metal, nothing small, no loose magnets — and it also means they catch a fish on the first try instead of getting frustrated.

Can it be washed?

Yes, and you'll want to. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and air dry, or spot-clean with a damp cloth for small messes.

Will the pieces get lost?

The mat is the bag — everything stores inside the same thing you play on, which is the main reason the set stays together. The fish are also big and brightly coloured, so they're easy to spot under furniture.

Is it good for travel?

One of the better ones. Everything is soft, so nothing rattles loose or rolls down the aisle, and the mat folds into a bag with handles that slides flat into a backpack or seat pocket.

Does it need batteries?

No. Nothing here needs batteries, charging or an app. The rattle in the rod is mechanical.

Is it a good first birthday or baby shower gift?

It's one of the better ones, because it doesn't get outgrown. Most toys given at that age are finished within a few months — this one is still being used at three, just played with differently.

How long does shipping take?
